- What Is Reflux?
- Reflux is when stomach contents flow back toward the throat. In adults, it can have many causes. In babies, the related muscles typically mature after around 6 months, so spitting up milk or water can be common in the early months—often referred to as infant reflux.
- Recommended Sleeping Position
- To help protect newborns while sleeping, doctors today may advise parents to place babies in a side-lying position.
- If a baby sleeps on their tummy, a perforated, air-permeable cushion may be recommended to help reduce breathing obstruction risk.
- For reflux comfort, the head end should be higher than the foot end.
- How long can it be used?
- Since the esophageal muscles generally develop after about 6 months, using it for the first 6 months is typically sufficient. It may also be used later if desired.
- Washing Instructions
- Remove the mattress cover by opening the zipper; wash by hand or machine at 40°C.
- The foam can be hand-washed and dried outdoors.
- Side cushion covers can be removed by opening the hook-and-loop fasteners; wash by hand or machine at 40°C.
- Side cushion foams can be hand-washed and dried flat.
- Note: Polyurethane is commonly used in foam products. Over time, polyurethane foam may yellow due to oxidation; this is generally stated not to have a negative effect on human health.
- This product is not suitable for carrying while the baby is inside.
