- In the first 6 months, babies may spit up milk or liquids—often referred to as infant reflux—and it can be more common under 6 months as the muscles in the esophagus are still developing. In this period, details such as feeding amounts and sleep positioning can matter.
- Parents are often advised to follow safe sleep guidance. In some situations, side-lying may be recommended after feeding due to choking concerns when lying flat on the back.
- If a baby sleeps on their tummy, a perforated, breathable “anti-suffocation” pillow may be preferred. This pillow uses a foam insert with air holes, along with a breathable 100% organic muslin cotton cover. If spit-up occurs while the baby is lying down, the perforations are designed to help liquid pass through, aiming to reduce risk.
- How to Wash? The cover can be hand-washed or machine-washed at 40°C. Hand-washing the foam is recommended, and it should be laid flat to dry.
- Note: Polyurethane is commonly used in foam products. Due to its natural structure, polyurethane foam may yellow over time because of oxidation; this is generally described as having no negative impact on health.
